Issue: # 2 November/2007
In this newsletter we offer you an update on the PRA Chip Fund Drive. Dr. Greg Acland of Cornell University, whose team has been researching our PRA problem since 1997 (without asking for any money), now needs our financial help. Please, forward this newsletter to any Glen owner you know who would be interested.
Humongous THANK YOUs! to several of you who have generously donated $100-$250 each to the PRA Chip research effort we described in the previous newsletter. This is an extremely important effort that directly affects the future health of our beloved breed. We need everyone's help because although $16,000 by the end of 2007 doesn't seem like an impossible goal, it is quite a challenge considering the size of our breed.
So far we have raised $2,484. Our initial e-mail went to 177 people: every Glen owner and previous Glen owner we could find, Thirty-one of those e-mails bounced back as undeliverable. When you do the math you can see how vital it is that everyone helps as much as they are able: we have only 183 people from which we need to raise $16,000. Some people may only be able to send a few dollars, others may be able to send much more.
Please help us eliminate this complicated inherited disease

Kathy Georgianna, Treasurer of the Glen Gathering is collecting the donations for Dr. Acland and will submit them all together so that they end up in a fund specifically for PRA research in Glens (rather than just any breed). Print out and use the easy donor coupon if you wish, or just send a check to:

GALLERY OF HONOR
Hello Glen people,
We have an opportunity to help our dogs. Consider it a Holiday present to your Glen. We really are a small group, you know, and have the commonality of our love for our terriers.
Oh yes, The Gallery of Honor: we will post a picture of your dog when you contribute. We all love seeing each other's dogs (even though we know our own is the most perfect) so send a picture along with your contribution and we'll
show it off in the Gallery of Honor

A loose collection of Glen owners gathers each year in New England to share our enthusiasm for Glen of Imaal Terriers. This newsletter is our way to extend the Glen Gathering to the wider Glen community. If you subscribe, you can expect regular issues until our fundraising goal is achieved, and then approximately three e-mail newsletters from us per year. The subscription is free.
If you would rather not receive this newsletter, go to the SafeUnsubscribe link directly below this newsletter, and you will be immediately removed from the mailing list.
